Tours
The places in Campania, in a day
We set off from your hotel at the time you choose, and the car stays with you all day. How long you stop is up to you: we wait.
What a day with us looks like
The car stays with you
It isn’t a transfer from A to B: the car is yours for the day. Stop where you like, reorder the stops, head back when you decide.
You buy the tickets
Site tickets and bookings stay with you, through the official channels: that way you pay the site’s price and no booking fee. We’re happy to tell you what’s worth booking ahead.
A licensed guide, if you want one
Guided visits inside the sites are led by guides on the national register, and you book them directly. What we do is the driving: we take you there, we wait, and we bring you back.
The places
With how long each takes from Naples. We also set off from Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast or Rome: the time changes, the way it works doesn’t.
Pompeiifrom Naples 40minA Roman city of 66 hectares, some 50 excavated: forum, painted houses, an amphitheatre from 70 BC. Open air, on ancient paving.
Herculaneumfrom Naples 25minFour and a half hectares of Roman town under the modern one: upper floors still standing, charred wood, the ancient beach with its boat sheds.
Mount Vesuviusfrom Naples 50minA crater 580 metres across at 1,175 m, and the whole bay from up there. The last stretch is on foot, about twenty minutes uphill.
Sorrentofrom Naples 1h 10minA terrace over the bay, and the Marina Piccola harbour where the Capri hydrofoils leave from. We drop you at the pier and pick you up there.
Positanofrom Naples 1h 30minHouses stepping down to the sea. The road through town is not closed: it is a one-way loop, and the last stretch is on foot.
Amalfifrom Naples 1h 45minThe cathedral at the top of the steps, and the coast that takes its name from here. The centre is a traffic zone: we drop you at the edge and wait there.
Ravellofrom Naples 1h 55minAbove Amalfi, at 350 metres. Two villas with gardens straight over the sea, a centre without cars, and far less noise.
Caprifrom Naples 20minAn island cars are not allowed to land on: you cross by hydrofoil, and the car waits at the pier until you are back.
Royal Palace of Casertafrom Naples 45minVanvitelli’s palace with 1,742 windows, 123 hectares of park and three kilometres of Via d’Acqua up to an 82-metre cascade. Expect a lot of walking.
Paestumfrom Naples 1h 30minThree Doric temples from the 6th and 5th centuries BC on a 27-hectare site south of Salerno. The museum is a separate building.
Naples old townThe Greek street grid is still there, and much of it is closed to traffic: you walk it, and the car waits at the edge.
Tell us the place and the day: we agree the price up front, as always.
