From the Amalfi Coast to Rome Fiumicino

Four hours, and the first one is spent simply getting off the coast. It is a road you cannot rush, and the time goes into the plan up front.

The Amalfi Coast road cut into the rock, high above the sea.

Where we meet

We pick you up in Positano, Praiano, Amalfi, Ravello or Maiori, at whatever point outside your hotel the vehicle can stop. If the address sits at the top or the bottom of a staircase — which happens often — we agree the meeting point in advance.

The drive

The SS163 to Vietri or, depending on where you start, over the pass towards Castellammare; then motorway all the way to Rome. There is no making up time on the SS163: one lane each way, and the scheduled coaches meet each other on the hairpins.

What the price covers

  • Motorway tolls and fuel
  • Airport waiting, up to 60 minutes after landing
  • Meet and greet at arrivals with a name sign
  • Flight tracking, and a pick-up that moves if you land late
  • Luggage, within what the vehicle holds
  • A child seat, on request

Worth knowing

  • Some stops along the SS163 are not possible with a long vehicle: if you want to pause for a view on the way, say so beforehand and we will pick a point where the vehicle fits.
  • We set the departure time from your flight and the season, not from the distance: in summer the same road can cost an hour more.

Questions about this route

Do you pick up in Positano, Praiano or Ravello?

Yes, and in Amalfi and Maiori too. We agree the meeting point in advance: many hotels sit at the top or the bottom of a staircase, and the vehicle goes as far as the road goes.

How much extra time is needed in summer?

About an hour more than in low season, all of it on the coast road. We set the time from your flight and the season, not from the distance.
