Transfers and destinations between Rome and Campania
They are two different jobs: getting someone from an airport to a hotel, and driving them for a whole day. Both are here, with how long each usually takes.
Transfers
The fare is agreed before you set off, and airport waiting is included for up to 60 minutes. Your flight is tracked: if it lands late, the pick-up moves with it.
Destinations
You set off from Naples or from your hotel. Coming down from Rome, these work as a full day: agree the time the night before and get back in the evening.
- PompeiiThe city the volcano buried in AD 79. Two hours covers the forum and the main houses; half a day does it justice.
- HerculaneumSmaller than Pompeii and better preserved — the wooden fittings are still there. Two hours is enough.
- Mount VesuviusThe road climbs to 1,000 m; the last stretch to the crater is on foot, about twenty minutes uphill.
- SorrentoA terrace over the bay, and the harbour where the Capri hydrofoils leave from.
- PositanoHouses stepping down to the sea. The lower road is closed to traffic: the car stops above and the rest is on foot.
- AmalfiThe cathedral at the top of the steps, and the coast that takes its name from here.
- RavelloAbove Amalfi, at 350 m. Two villas with gardens straight over the sea, and far less noise.
- CapriReached by hydrofoil from Naples or Sorrento: the car takes you to the pier and picks you up again at the time you choose.
- Royal Palace of CasertaThe Bourbon palace and three kilometres of gardens in a straight line. There is a lot of walking inside.
- PaestumThree Greek temples standing for two and a half thousand years, south of Salerno. The least crowded place on this list.
- Naples old townThe old Greek streets, the Sansevero Chapel, the seafront. For anyone coming down from Rome with a single day.
There is no price list, and there is a reason: every trip has a different time, a different amount of luggage and a different number of stops. It is agreed on WhatsApp before you set off, and from then on that is the price — no meter, nothing added on arrival.
